Frequently asked questions

Why are only 500 emojis included?
Unicode has over 3,800 emojis, but most are rarely used. We include the ~500 most common ones so the picker stays fast and visually scannable. Missing a favorite? Paste it from your OS emoji panel instead.
How do recent picks work?
Each click appends the emoji to a list in localStorage under a dedicated key. The list caps at 20 items and shows most recent first. Clear your browser storage to reset it.
Will the emojis look the same on every device?
No — each OS renders emoji with its own font. Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Samsung all draw them slightly differently. The Unicode code point is the same, only the visual style differs.
Does search match keywords?
Yes. Searching "party" finds the party popper, balloon, confetti ball, and birthday cake. Each emoji has an array of searchable keywords plus its canonical name.
